Tabouret E88
The Tabouret E88 is a bench-sculpture inspired by the crossroads of E 88th Street and 5th Avenue in Manhattan, where urban geometry converses with architectural memory. Its form evokes the block of Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic building, materializing a subtle transition from rectangle to circle. Along its perimeter, a bas-relief gathers the site’s textures and traces, like a map etched into the object’s skin.
Crafted in Ciudad Juárez at 1050 °C with clay and sand from the Chihuahuan desert, the piece celebrates local knowledge, bridges territories, and embodies the bond between context and identity.
Fabricated in collaboration with ceramic artist Israel Gómez Mares in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México.
The Tabouret E88 is exhibited at the Inédito pavilion of Design Week México. October 11, 2025 to January 11, 2026 at Espacio CDMX, México City.
